Curry County Release Date Types
A scheduled or projected date looks forward. It reflects information known when the record was calculated, and it may change. An actual release date records a completed custody transaction. Even that event must be read with the destination: release to the community differs from transport to ODOC, another jail, federal custody, or immigration custody. “Released from Curry County Jail” means county jail custody ended, not that all government custody or supervision ended.
The Curry JusticeConnect roster separates Booked Date, Scheduled Release, and Release Date. ODOC and VISOR use the term projected release date, or PRD, for a state sentence estimate. These fields must not be merged. A court judgment can establish the sentence and legal authority, yet it often does not show the exact time a person crossed the jail door.
| Date field | What it means | What it cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Booked Date | Start of the published Curry booking | How or when custody later ended |
| Scheduled Release | Prospective Curry roster date | A completed release |
| Release Date | Recorded Curry custody-ending event | Community freedom if the person was transported |
| ODOC PRD | Projected state prison release date | Actual ODOC discharge or an end to supervision |
Find a Curry County Release Date
Start with the system that holds the person. The official Curry roster covers Curry County Jail bookings and includes both current and release-oriented status choices. OOS covers ODOC custody and history. VISOR searches people currently in Oregon custody or under supervision and can provide change alerts. A federal or immigration transfer belongs in its own federal system, not the county or ODOC calculation.
- Open the official Curry JusticeConnect roster for a county booking. Select the relevant status, then inspect Scheduled Release and Release Date separately.
- If the roster says Transport or the court judgment commits the person to ODOC, search the Oregon Offender Search by name or SID.
- For an ODOC person, report a displayed PRD as projected. Do not shorten the label to “release date.”
- Review the Curry Circuit Court judgment for sentence terms, jail credit, probation, PPS, amended orders, or another hold.
- After the date, verify the actual event through current status, an alert, Curry Corrections, or the responsible agency's discharge record.
For a named county booking and its full record trail, the Curry County released-inmate lookup ties the roster to the court and request channels. Keep the state search for people actually committed to ODOC.
Note: A pretrial detainee may have no set date because bail, court action, new holds, or dismissal can control release.
Curry County Scheduled Release Field
The county-specific date channel is JusticeConnect. Its grid displays an image, name, age, sex, booked date, and Scheduled Release. The detail view adds Days Served / Total, Release Date or “Unknown,” facility, charges and status, arresting agency, docket, and bail. These details help distinguish people and connect the jail entry to the right court case.
A future date in this system remains an estimate. Court action, a new hold, changed security, dismissal, transport, or a local credit calculation could change what happens. No official Curry source located in the research publishes a county good-time formula, a weekend release adjustment, a standard exit time, or a roster update cadence. Do not import a state prison percentage into this county booking.
If a Scheduled Release arrives and the record still lacks a completed Release Date, call Curry County Jail Corrections at 541-247-3344. The line operates around the clock. For durable proof, ask Sheriff Records for the actual release date and time, release type or authority, and receiving agency or destination if releasable.
Curry Circuit Court can explain the legal basis. The Register of Actions may show bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation, or an amended order. It does not normally replace the jail transaction for the physical release moment.
Curry County ODOC Date Search
The Oregon Offender Search accepts first, middle, and last name or SID. Partial-name wildcards are supported. Compare the SID and other identifiers before relying on a match, since spelling changes and common names can return the wrong person. OOS is useful only when ODOC has the custody or offender history. A Curry arrestee who posted security, finished a county term, or was never committed to state prison may not belong there.
The image below shows the blank Oregon Offender Search form. It demonstrates the name and SID route without displaying a person's private details.
This ODOC form is the next step after Curry records show a state commitment or transport, not a substitute for every Curry County Jail release.
If the public entry is incomplete, use the ODOC public records route. A precise request can seek release or discharge documents, a face sheet, or releasable Pen Pack components. Mail requests go to Oregon Department of Corrections, ATTN Public Records Request, 3723 Fairview Industrial Drive SE, Suite 200, Salem, OR 97310. Former Offender Records is listed at 503-570-6919. Ask for certified copies expressly when needed.
Curry County Release Credit Rules
Oregon has no universal rule that every prisoner serves 85 percent. It is also wrong to say every person can leave after serving 80 percent. The judgment, offense date, sentence type, and statutory exclusions control each calculation. Current ORS 421.121 permits eligible ODOC felony terms for crimes committed on or after November 1, 1989 to earn reductions based on appropriate institutional behavior and adult basic-skills participation. For eligible current terms, the maximum reduction is 20 percent, and credit cannot reduce actual prison confinement below six months.
Measure 11 mandatory minimums under ORS 137.700 are not reduced by earned time or another provision. ORS 137.707 addresses specified juvenile mandatory-minimum terms and includes its own limits. ORS 137.635 and specified homicide provisions are among other exclusions listed in the earned-time framework. Historical rules and sentence groups can differ, so the current statute and judgment must be paired with the person’s actual case.
ODOC administrative rules govern how credits are awarded, retracted, and restored. Good conduct can support credit, while a disciplinary loss may move the PRD later. The percentage applies to eligible ODOC incarceration. It does not establish a Curry County Jail scheduled date.
Note: Apply Oregon earned-time law only after confirming the sentence cohort and exclusions; do not use a statewide slogan as a date calculator.
Why Curry County Release Dates Change
A release estimate is the result of several moving parts. Sentence start, jail credit, concurrent or consecutive terms, earned-time eligibility, and later adjustments can all matter. The table separates the event from its likely effect without predicting any one person's outcome.
| Factor | Possible effect | Record to check |
|---|---|---|
| Credit awarded, lost, or restored | Moves an eligible ODOC PRD | ODOC calculation and rules |
| Amended court order | Changes the controlling sentence or credit | Current judgment and docket |
| Detainer or other hold | May continue custody or cause transfer | Holding and receiving agency records |
| Board action | May affirm, defer, postpone, or set a parole milestone | Board Action Form |
| Transitional leave | Moves the person from prison under conditions before discharge | ODOC release record |
| Curry court or jail event | May change a county Scheduled Release | Jail transaction and court order |
ODOC's release FAQ says release counselors verify the PRD one to two weeks before release and finalize transportation. It also explains why a detainer may be resolved before the PRD or lead to other custody. This short verification window is one reason an older screenshot or copied date should not be treated as final.
ORS 421.168 allows approved transitional leave no more than 120 days before discharge in qualifying cases. A person on transitional leave remains subject to conditions and immediate return. Leaving the prison building under that program is not the same as final discharge.
The official ODOC release material below addresses date verification, transportation, transitional leave, and detainers.
That source supports checking the PRD close to release and then confirming the actual custody outcome.
Curry County Release Date Records
When the public screens do not settle the date, request the record from the agency that held the person. For Curry County Jail, identify the person, booking number if known, approximate custody dates, and court docket. Ask separately for the actual release date and time, the scheduled date if stored, the release authority or type, and the receiving agency or destination if the departure was a transfer. A request for those exact fields is more useful than asking broadly for “all records.” If some material is exempt, ask for the releasable redacted portion.
The Curry County Sheriff's live records form asks for requester contact details, request date, incident date, case number, and a description. It quotes $25 for the Incident Report / Dispatch Record / Jail category. Payment methods include check, cash, money order, or credit card with a vendor fee. Mail and payment go to Curry County Sheriff's Office, Attention Records, 94235 Moore Street, Suite 311, Gold Beach, OR 97444. The live estimate should control because broader fee schedules may use different itemized charges.
For an ODOC release date, the public-record request follows a staged process: receipt, any needed clarification, a fee estimate and payment, then production. Posted labor rates are $25 per hour for clerical work, $40 for managerial work, and $75 for professional work, plus state printing cost and actual media or postage. Naming a limited date range and the precise discharge or calculation document can reduce ambiguity. A public Pen Pack may include a face sheet, judgments or sentence orders, and, when present, parole discharge or structured-sanction material.
Oregon Public Records Law does not create a flat fifteen-day production promise. Under ORS 192.324, a custodian generally acknowledges or completes within five business days. ORS 192.329 generally calls for completion as soon as reasonably possible and no later than ten business days after that acknowledgment deadline, subject to clarification, fees, exemptions, and other statutory conditions. The response time therefore depends on the request and agency process.
Note: Request an actual release transaction or discharge document, not merely another copy of the public screen showing a future date.
Confirm a Curry County Release
After a Curry County Scheduled Release, look for the actual Release Date and the status or destination. “Transport” means custody moved. For ODOC, review the later custody or supervision status and seek discharge documents when formal proof matters. VISOR can send release or transfer notices while a person remains searchable, but an alert is not a certified record.
The Oregon VISOR release-check process explains how to search a person and register through the current state system. Register before release when possible. A fully discharged person may disappear from VISOR's current custody-or-supervision scope, so a no-result does not prove the date.
Use custody-specific language. Curry County Jail release ends Curry custody. ODOC release ends state prison custody but may lead to PPS or another hold. A Board milestone may affect a future release but does not prove the physical event. The agency that held the person creates the strongest actual release or discharge record.
Note: Preserve a release alert as a lead, then obtain the jail transaction or ODOC discharge record for lasting proof.
